Boca Jet Charter arranges pet-friendly private flights from Boca Raton and across South Florida. Many of our clients fly with animals, and on a private aircraft the pet travels in the cabin with you rather than in a hold.
Why people charter for a pet
The cabin is the whole answer. Your animal stays with you, the aircraft goes when you go, and there is no terminal, no queue and no separation at either end. For an older animal, a nervous one, or a snub-nosed breed that many carriers will not accept at all, that difference is significant.
Tell us about the animal first
Not every aircraft or operator accepts animals in the cabin, and that decision belongs to the owner and operator of the aircraft rather than to us. So tell us at the quote stage: what the animal is, roughly what it weighs, and whether it travels in a crate or on a lead.
Size and species change the answer more than people expect. A cat and a large dog are different conversations, and horses, livestock and anything unusual are different again, though all of those are arrangeable with enough notice.
Depending on the animal, the distance and the length of the trip, there may be requirements around crating, and on some trips around sedation, which is a decision for your veterinarian rather than for us.
International trips
Crossing a border with an animal takes paperwork, and the requirements belong to the destination country. Health certificates, vaccination records and timing requirements vary widely, and some countries need documents issued within a set window before travel. Start on it early, and your advisor can tell you what we have seen required on similar routings, though the official source is always the destination’s own authority.
Coming home, customs at Boca Raton runs Thursday through Monday, 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with after-hours clearance requested during those same hours.
If you are moving house rather than traveling, our relocation flights page covers what changes.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Boca Raton-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Hurricane season runs June through November and peaks in September, and summer afternoons bring thunderstorms that build quickly and close airspace while they pass. Your advisor watches the forecast ahead of your date and will call you before you call us. Boca Raton Airport also asks operators to observe a voluntary curfew between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM, which does not block a departure but is worth raising early if your trip lands in that window.
