When a cargo charter is the right answer
Normally, one of three following scenarios is true. The shipment has a deadline that scheduled freight cannot meet. It is going somewhere scheduled freight does not serve properly. Or it is the kind of load that does not travel well in a shared aircraft: oversized, fragile, hazardous, temperature-sensitive, or valuable enough that you want it under your own control the whole way.

The three things that decide the aircraft
Give us the total weight, the dimensions of the largest single piece, and the deadline. Those three things decide which aircraft can do the job, more than the total volume does. A load that is light but long will need a bigger aircraft than its weight suggests, because it has to fit through the door before it can sit in the hold.
It is also worth mentioning if anything about the shipment is unusual: dangerous goods, live animals, human remains, pharmaceuticals or anything needing temperature control. Each of those changes which operators can carry it and what documentation has to travel with it.
Loading and the airport at the other end
The receiving airport matters as much as the departure one. It needs the runway, the ground equipment to get the load off, and the hours to do it in. Some fields have no forklift and no high loader, which for a heavy or palletized shipment decides the aircraft on its own, because it has to be self-unloading or it has to go somewhere else.
Required runway is a performance calculation the operator makes for that aircraft, at that weight, in the conditions on the day. We confirm it with the operator for your specific shipment rather than working from a published figure.
Crossing borders
Customs clearance is what usually decides when a shipment actually arrives. Many international destinations require special permissions for landing and customs. Permits are generally applied for after a trip has been secured on the aircraft schedule, and sometimes the timeline is dictated by the local airport authorities. We will always do our best to ensure departure and arrival times meet your needs, but these are sometimes subject to the approvals of the local airport authority and government.
On international legs, operators must meet the equivalent safety standards of the country of operation.
Who is flying it
Cargo charters are flown by certified air carriers, and the same review applies as on a passenger trip: we confirm the operator’s certification, review their safety and incident history, and confirm that the pilots are experienced and current on the aircraft type. Where the operator participates in a Wyvern or ARGUS program, we reference those audits as part of the review as well.

Boca Raton-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Hurricane season runs June through November and peaks in September, and summer afternoons bring thunderstorms that build quickly and close airspace while they pass. Your advisor watches the forecast ahead of your date and will call you before you call us. Boca Raton Airport also asks operators to observe a voluntary curfew between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM, which does not block a departure but is worth raising early if your trip lands in that window.
